Un reportaje de People en Español publicado el 2 de mayo de 2022 contó que Rosa Isabel Céspedes Callaca, de 36 años, mostró signos de vida durante su velorio en Ferreñafe, Perú, después de haber sido declarada muerta tras un accidente de carretera. La nota afirma que fue trasladada a un hospital y murió minutos después. No aporta una explicación médica oficial ni documentos clínicos que permitan confirmar qué ocurrió.
Qué contó el reportaje
La historia fue publicada por People en Español el 2 de mayo de 2022. Según esa nota, el accidente ocurrió el 24 de abril, durante un trayecto entre Chiclayo y Ferreñafe. Un hombre murió en el lugar; Céspedes Callaca y varios niños fueron llevados a un hospital en estado grave.
El artículo afirma que Céspedes Callaca fue declarada muerta dos días después. Durante el velorio, familiares o asistentes habrían oído o visto que tocaba el ataúd cerrado. Se llamó a las autoridades y la mujer fue trasladada al Hospital Referencia de Ferreñafe.

Qué dijeron los testigos citados
El administrador del cementerio, a quien la nota no identifica por nombre, dijo: «Abrió los ojos y estaba sudando. En ese momento he venido a mi oficina y he procedido a llamar a la policía».
Un tío de Céspedes Callaca expresó su deseo de conocer por qué ella reaccionó cuando la llevaban a enterrar y afirmó que la familia tenía videos en los que empujaba y tocaba el ataúd. También dijo que llegó al hospital «con cinco de pulso». Esa cifra es una declaración del familiar recogida por el medio, no una medición clínica confirmada de manera independiente.
