Campbell comunicó el fallecimiento en una publicación de TikTok, según las notas de People en Español y Univision. People en Español publicó su nota el 9 de abril de 2025 y reprodujo el mensaje de despedida de la madre: “Falleció pacíficamente anoche, envuelta en amor”. Univision ubicó el fallecimiento en la noche del 7 de abril.
En el mismo mensaje, según People en Español, Campbell expresó su dolor y enojo y pidió apoyo a la investigación de una cura. La nota informó que la publicación había superado los 12 millones de visualizaciones al momento de publicarse, el 9 de abril de 2025; esa cifra corresponde a ese momento, no a un conteo vigente.

Univision informó que el 5 de abril Campbell había dicho que Elliana no abría los ojos, no comía y apenas podía llorar. Es el relato de la madre reproducido por el medio, no una evaluación médica independiente.

Qué es la epidermólisis bullosa de unión
La epidermólisis bullosa (EB) comprende un grupo de enfermedades raras que hacen que la piel sea frágil y propensa a ampollarse. La fricción o los golpes pueden causar desgarros y lesiones; algunas formas graves también pueden afectar mucosas y zonas internas, según el Instituto Nacional de Artritis y Enfermedades Musculoesqueléticas y de la Piel de Estados Unidos (NIAMS).
