MrBeast said Tyson spent time with her son and pushed back on what he called a rumor; Tyson’s ex-wife also defended their co-parenting and asked the public to protect their child’s privacy.
What MrBeast said in June 2024
Rolling Stone Canada reported that on June 22, 2024, Nickmercs replied to a now-deleted post by Tyson, criticizing her for leaving her wife and child to “play pretend.” Tyson responded that transgender people can be good parents and said she and her former partner could co-parent cordially. Rolling Stone Canada’s June 25 account reported the exchange.
MrBeast defended Tyson’s parenting, writing: “Ava is literally always with her kid and doesn’t even go on shoots to spend more time with him.” He added: “Tuck man is always smiling, not sure why this rumor is a thing.” Those were MrBeast’s statements about Tyson and her son, not an independent finding about their family life.
Tyson’s ex-wife Katie separately said their child was “loved and cared for by both parents” and asked people not to turn the four-year-old’s life into a headline. Her response centered the child’s privacy amid the public argument.
MrBeast had defended Tyson before
The June exchange was not his first public response to transphobic criticism of Tyson. Rolling Stone reported that in April 2023, MrBeast called her his friend and wrote: “All this transphobia is starting to piss me off.” Rolling Stone’s account of his 2023 response covers that earlier statement.
Separate allegations and responses in July 2024
In July 2024, Tyson announced she was leaving MrBeast-related work after separate allegations concerning online interactions with a minor surfaced. Tyson denied grooming and apologized for past behavior or comments that had hurt or offended people. MrBeast said he would hire an independent third party to investigate and that Tyson had been removed from his company and channel; he said he would take further action based on the findings. The July reporting on the allegations and responses describes those developments.
These July allegations are distinct from Nickmercs’s June criticism of Tyson’s parenting and gender identity. They should not be treated as proof of the June claims, nor should the June exchange be used to resolve the later allegations.
Sky News reported that the person identified in the allegations said: “I was never exploited or taken advantage of.” That is the person’s reported statement, not a broader adjudication of the allegations. Sky News’ report provides that account.
What a later company investigation concluded
The Associated Press later reported that a nearly three-month investigation into MrBeast’s company found no basis for allegations that team members committed sexual misconduct or knowingly employed people with illegal or questionable histories. That reported conclusion concerned a broader company probe; it should not be read as a specific ruling on every Tyson-related allegation. The AP report describes the scope and conclusion of that investigation.
