It debuted on Netflix Games on December 10, 2024, then expanded to PC and consoles on July 22, 2025. That move beyond its original subscription launch is one of the clearest departures in the game’s story: it brought the series’ carefully composed puzzle world to more platforms without leaving behind its emphasis on visual design and interactive storytelling.
What is Monument Valley 3 about?
In the official Netflix synopsis, players enter an “enchanting puzzle world,” navigate optical illusions, bring a village together and guide it to a new home. The Xbox listing adds the central character and stakes: Noor, a young apprentice, travels through shifting architecture and rising tides in search of a way to restore fading light.

Progress depends on changing perspective and manipulating structures to reveal routes that appear impossible from another angle. The game also introduces sailing through changing environments, with shifting seas and hidden paths woven into the puzzle journey. Xbox classifies it as a single-player game.
When did Monument Valley 3 come out on Netflix?
Netflix announced Monument Valley 3 on August 20, 2024, and set its Netflix Games debut for December 10, 2024. At the time, Netflix said its games were included with memberships without ads or in-app purchases; those terms describe the 2024 announcement, not necessarily the service’s current catalog or subscription conditions.

The Netflix release was a launch platform, not an enduring exclusivity claim. ustwo games later announced the game’s global release on PC and consoles for July 22, 2025.
Is Monument Valley 3 still on Netflix?
The available official announcements establish that the game launched on Netflix Games in December 2024, but they do not establish whether Netflix still carries its mobile version in October 2026. Check Netflix’s current game catalog in your region if you want to play through the service; availability can change.

ustwo games said the game became globally available on July 22, 2025, for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Store availability can vary by region and over time, so check the relevant storefront for the current listing and edition. The Xbox product page confirms its Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions and identifies the game as single-player.
How sound becomes part of the puzzle experience
Audio Director Todd Baker has described the soundtrack as part of the game’s storytelling and mechanics, rather than accompaniment that simply sits behind the visuals. In his account for Xbox Wire, he said he and co-composer Lucie Treacher worked to blur the line between traditional composition and interactive sound design.

Baker says that moving or manipulating structures can change the music in real time, while levels function as distinct sound worlds. Water sounds contribute both atmosphere and musical material. He recommends headphones to appreciate the soundscape, and summed up the interactive quality this way: “It’s like you’re composing as you’re playing.”

Game Director Jennifer Estaris framed the Netflix partnership as a way to bring the series’ minimalist design, simple play and emotional storytelling to a broad audience. Her 2024 statement said the partnership could deliver the game to “hundreds of millions of players around the world” through Netflix memberships. That was a description of the potential audience for the service, not a reported player count, sales figure or measure of how many people played Monument Valley 3.

The more concrete change is distribution: after its Netflix Games debut, the game reached PC and major console platforms. That makes the Netflix launch an important part of its release history, while leaving current Netflix availability an open question.
