StreamYard’s help article lists these maximum prerecorded-video lengths by plan. A broadcast ends when the selected video finishes, so these limits matter if you are comparing a scheduled clip with a continuous stream.

The same guide says paid-plan prerecorded streams support up to 1080p, accept MP4/H.264, and allow uploads up to 10 Mbps. Schedule counts and file-size limits also vary by plan. If you schedule an announcement, the YouTube share link appears at announcement time; without a scheduled announcement, it appears when the stream goes live. Do not confuse the length limit on an individual prerecorded video with StreamYard’s general streaming limit. Its separate article says paid plans have no streaming limit imposed by StreamYard, while destination platforms have their own limits. For YouTube, the article says there is no stated stream limit but only the latest 12 hours will be recorded. That does not establish that a single prerecorded clip loops forever. Calculate the PC’s monthly electricity cost

Monthly electricity cost = average watts ÷ 1,000 × streaming hours per month × local price per kWh.
- Measure average watts. Use a suitable power meter at the wall while the PC is running the encoder and stream. Measure the configuration you will actually use, including any display or peripherals whose power you intend to count.
- Work out hours for your billing period. For a nonstop stream, use the actual number of hours in that period rather than assuming every month has 30 days. For a scheduled stream, use its planned hours.
- Use your electricity tariff. Multiply by the price per kilowatt-hour on your bill. If your rate changes by time of day, use the applicable rates for the hours you stream.
- Add only incremental costs. Include extra connectivity or hardware costs only if streaming causes them. If you buy a PC for this purpose, state how you allocate its purchase cost over its useful life rather than presenting the entire purchase as a recurring monthly bill.
The cited sources do not establish a typical PC wattage, a local electricity tariff, or a universal break-even point against StreamYard. Your result depends on your equipment, usage, and location.

Set up the PC encoder route
YouTube supports streaming from computer software encoders. The precise controls vary by encoder, so follow its current instructions for entering YouTube’s stream URL and stream key. YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension of RTMP, in its live encoder settings guidance.
- Confirm live-stream access on YouTube. Sign in to the channel and use YouTube Studio’s live-stream setup. Complete any channel eligibility or activation steps YouTube presents before planning a scheduled broadcast.
- Create or select a stream in YouTube Studio. Open the channel’s live-control workflow and set up the broadcast details there. Use YouTube’s current encoder instructions because labels can change: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Configure the encoder. Choose the video file or playlist in your encoder, then enter the stream URL and stream key provided by YouTube. Treat the key like a password; do not publish or share it. Select RTMPS if your encoder supports it. For resolution, bitrate, frame rate, and keyframe interval, use the values in YouTube’s current settings guidance and the matching options in your encoder rather than guessing or assuming one preset fits every upload and connection.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Confirm YouTube receives the feed and that picture and sound are correct before making the broadcast public or starting a scheduled event.
- Plan for endings and interruptions. A local encoder depends on the PC and internet connection remaining available. Decide who will check the stream, how you will restart it after a fault, and what the audience should see when the video ends. The cited encoder guidance does not promise a perpetual loop or uninterrupted operation.

Copyright and replay considerations
Having a file available to upload or stream does not by itself establish that you have the rights needed to broadcast it. Check permissions for the video, music, images, and other material in the recording, and review YouTube’s current rules for live content and monetization before going live. A continuous or repeated broadcast is not a substitute for permission, and the sources cited here do not establish that any particular reused video qualifies for monetization.
