Montecito’s celebrity real-estate stories involve past sales, reported purchases and one disputed transaction—not a verified list of who lives there today. The seven examples below trace those connections using reported transaction prices, with dates and context; the figures are historical sale or purchase amounts, not current valuations.
How to read the prices and ownership history
A celebrity’s connection to a Montecito property may be as a buyer, seller or participant in a contested sale. A reported transaction price tells you what a property changed hands for at a particular time; it does not establish what the estate is worth now or who currently occupies it. The seven entries are an editorial selection, not a ranking of Montecito’s most expensive homes.
Seven celebrity connections to Montecito estates
1. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: reported $14.65 million purchase
The Los Angeles Times reported in 2020 that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle bought a Montecito home in an off-market transaction for $14.65 million. Tax records and associated entities supported the identification. Architectural Digest described the estate in 2021 as spanning 7.4 acres and rounded the purchase price to $14.7 million. These are reports of the purchase and property, not confirmation of present-day occupancy or value.
2. Oprah Winfrey and Jeff Bridges: seller and buyer of a Spanish Revival ranch
In 2019, Oprah Winfrey bought a Spanish Revival ranch from actor Jeff Bridges for a reported $6.85 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. The four-acre property was described as having a pool, spa, guesthouse, poolhouse, carriage house and equestrian stables. Winfrey later sold it in 2025. Architectural Digest reported a $17.1 million sale in its account, while contemporary coverage cited a different figure; the reports should not be treated as one undisputed price. See Architectural Digest’s 2025 account for its reported amount and property details. Bridges is the ranch’s former owner, not its current owner based on these reports.

3. Rob Lowe and Sheryl Berkoff: reported $13 million acquisition
Rob Lowe and Sheryl Berkoff reportedly acquired a 6.7-acre Montecito property for $13 million in 2020 and undertook a custom-home build, as recounted by Realtor.com in 2025. That figure refers to the reported acquisition, not a published current appraisal or the value of a completed home.
4. Ellen DeGeneres and Ariana Grande: a documented 2020 sale
The Los Angeles Times reported in 2020 that Ellen DeGeneres sold an English Tudor-style Montecito house to Ariana Grande for $6.75 million. This records a former-owner and buyer connection; it does not establish either person’s current residence there.

5. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom: a $15 million sale disputed in court
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were associated with a Montecito home bought in 2020 for a reported contract price of $15 million. The transaction later became the subject of a legal dispute over the sale and alleged property costs. In August 2025, the Associated Press reported that a second trial was underway and covered claims and counterclaims; that report does not establish the case’s final outcome. Perry testified, “I stand to lose money if it doesn’t work in my favor,” the AP reported. Read its August 2025 report for the trial status as of that date.
6. Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo: two different properties, two reported 2025 transactions
Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo’s 2025 Montecito property history involves two separate homes. Realtor.com reported that they bought a Spanish-style property from Winfrey for $17.27 million; that is a different estate from the Georgian-style mansion they sold. Realtor.com’s 2025 account covers the Winfrey-to-Levine transaction. Architectural Digest reported that the couple sold their separate Georgian-style Montecito home for $60 million in 2025; see its account of that sale. The two prices concern different properties and should not be conflated.

7. Jeff Bridges: a second, separate estate sale
Bridges’ Montecito history also includes a separate nearly 20-acre vineyard estate. The Los Angeles Times reported that he sold it for $15.925 million in 2017. This was not the Spanish Revival ranch he later sold to Winfrey. The distinction matters: the two reported transactions involved separate properties, and neither price is a current valuation. See the Los Angeles Times report.

What these figures can—and cannot—tell you
- They are historical transaction reports. The stated amounts are reported purchase, contract or sale prices at specific dates, not appraisals for 2026.
- They do not form a current-resident list. The documented connections range from past ownership to reported purchases and a disputed transaction; the cited reports do not comprehensively establish current occupancy.
- Property details vary by report. Acreage, style and amenities are included where the cited coverage provides them; they are not available uniformly for all seven entries.
- One 2025 sale has a reported-price discrepancy. Coverage of Winfrey’s four-acre property gives differing figures, so the $17.1 million amount above is attributed specifically to Architectural Digest rather than presented as a settled market value.
