In a March 2010 interview with Barbara Walters, Mo’Nique described openness as sharing “every secret, my fantasies, my thoughts.” ABC News reported that she said sex outside marriage would not necessarily be a deal-breaker. These were her explanations of the arrangement, not evidence that either spouse had sex outside the marriage. (ABC News, March 2010)
2015–2016: She emphasized honesty
In 2015, Mo’Nique said the arrangement had originally been her idea. The following year, UPI reported her describing honesty as the couple’s rule: “The rule is simply honesty.” (BET, December 2015; UPI, 2016)

What was the couple’s podcast?
BET reported in December 2015 that Mo’Nique and Hicks planned a podcast, and Essence covered the project in January 2016.
