What is Doc about?
In the series, Amy Larsen is a doctor who loses eight years of memory after a car accident. Before the crash, she was chief of internal medicine at Minneapolis’s Westside Hospital. She returns to work as an intern and must rebuild both her medical career and her personal life, including her relationships with her family and colleagues.

The medical cases are part of the story, but grief and the consequences of Amy’s changed relationships are also central. The Associated Press described Parker as playing both the ambitious doctor before her injury and a mother learning to trust again afterward.
Who does Molly Parker play?
Parker is Dr Amy Larsen, the lead character. The role gives her two markedly different versions of Amy to portray: the accomplished physician remembered by her colleagues, and the woman who wakes with no memory of the intervening years.

Parker told 7NEWS that the character’s flaws were part of the appeal: “It’s rare to find a woman in the lead who is allowed to be really mean and awful, you know, is allowed to be unlikable sometimes.” She also said that two writers who are doctors filter each script for medical detail.
The 7NEWS interview identified House of Cards and Deadwood among Parker’s earlier work. Her role in Doc is a lead performance in a medical drama, rather than a return to either of those series.

When did Doc air in Australia?
The Australian premiere was at 6:00 pm on Tuesday 22 April 2025 on 7plus, according to TV Blackbox’s report reproducing Seven’s announcement. PerthNow’s 1 June 2025 headline described the show as having just arrived on Australian screens; that phrasing reflects the article’s 2025 publication date, not a new 2026 premiere.
A 7NEWS interview published on 26 January 2026, and updated the next day, said season two would air on Seven and 7plus from 27 January 2026. That is a reported broadcast start date; it does not establish that every episode or season is available on every streaming service.
