What was the two-act format?
The tour joined Higgins’ newer material with her 2004 debut, The Sound Of White, marking the album’s 20th anniversary. According to her official tour announcement, the show opened with a stripped-back set featuring songs from The Second Act. After an intermission, Higgins and her band performed The Sound Of White in full, alongside other hits.
Kings Park described The Second Act as “a kind of sequel” to the debut, and said Higgins wrote, produced and performed much of the new collection. Higgins explained the decision to add dates in the announcement: “I never imagined it would take me most of 2024 to do this Australian tour, but it’s been such a great experience on every level that I’m glad the band and I will get to share it a few more times with all these big crowds. There have been lots of people posting about how disappointed they were to miss out on getting a chance to see this two act show so now they’ll have no excuse!”
