Missy Elliott’s first-ever headlining tour was the 2024 arena run OUT OF THIS WORLD — The Missy Elliott Experience. It featured Ciara and Busta Rhymes, with Timbaland billed as a special guest. The 24-city North American tour was scheduled from July 4 to August 22, 2024; those dates have passed.
Was this Missy Elliott’s first headlining tour?
Yes. The April 8, 2024 announcement from 313 Presents called it Elliott’s “debut headline tour,” a milestone in her 30-year career. The Associated Press described it as her first headlining arena tour. Elliott told AP, “Listen, I didn’t realize I never had my own tour.” She also said her last consistent touring stretch had been with Beyoncé and Alicia Keys in 2004. 313 Presents · Associated Press
Who toured with Missy Elliott?
The announced lineup paired Elliott with Ciara and Busta Rhymes, while Timbaland was billed as a special guest. The billing is important: the tour’s title mentions Ciara and Timbaland, but Busta Rhymes was also part of the announced lineup. ABC News independently reported the same lineup. ABC News
What was the tour called, and what kind of show was planned?
The full name was OUT OF THIS WORLD — The Missy Elliott Experience. Elliott described the planned performance to AP as more than a conventional concert: “It’s an experience, it’s not just you seeing the artist on the stage.” She said she wanted fans to revisit moments from her music videos. The announcement campaign reinforced the intergalactic concept and credited Dave Meyers, June Ambrose and Hi-Hat as creative collaborators; that campaign credit does not, by itself, establish every detail of the live production. Why was the tour a milestone?
