Miss Universe Mexico condemned the treatment of contestant Fátima Bosch after a livestreamed event in Bangkok on Nov. 4, 2025, and said she would continue in the competition. Bosch had challenged pageant director Nawat Itsaragrisil and walked out; several contestants followed. The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) separately announced measures in response, and Bosch later won Miss Universe 2025.
What happened between Fátima Bosch and Nawat Itsaragrisil?
At a livestreamed Miss Universe event in Bangkok on Nov. 4, 2025, Itsaragrisil confronted Bosch over alleged promotional posts about Thailand, according to the contemporaneous account from CNA. He said his staff had reported that the Miss Universe Mexico director instructed Bosch not to post Thailand-related content. Bosch said there had been a misunderstanding and tried to explain.
CNA reported that Itsaragrisil pressed Bosch for a yes-or-no answer about promoting Thailand. After she answered yes, he called her a “dumb head.” Bosch stood up and challenged his conduct. After he called for security, she left the event; several other contestants followed. The promotional-post allegation and the account of the exchange are reported claims and events, not proof of either person’s underlying motives.
In CNA’s Nov. 5 report, Bosch explained her decision this way: “if something costs you your dignity, you need to walk away.”

Más fuerte que nunca, profundamente conmovida y emocionada por el cariño que ha recibido de México y del mundo. Con la frente en alto y el corazón firme, seguirá adelante con la certeza y la convicción de ser la voz de quienes no la tienen”. That means: “Fátima is well.
