Mexico’s Fátima Bosch won Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. India’s Manika Vishwakarma advanced to the Top 30 but did not reach the Top 12; the available reporting does not support the original claim that she came in the Top 15.

How far did India’s Manika Vishwakarma advance?
Vishwakarma, India’s representative, reached the Top 30 and was eliminated in the Top 12 round, according to The Indian Express’s contemporaneous coverage. That means she did not qualify for the Top 12. The reporting does not establish an exact final rank, so calling her a Top 15 finisher goes beyond what the available account supports.
| Representative | Country | Reported result |

| Manika Vishwakarma | India | Advanced to the Top 30; did not advance to the Top 12. Exact final rank not established by the cited coverage. |
Why was Bosch’s win receiving added attention?
The result followed a public dispute involving Bosch. The Associated Press reported that a host scolded her during a livestreamed sashing ceremony, that contestants walked out in solidarity, and that a local organizer apologized. This was context surrounding the event, separate from the competition result. The AP account also quoted Bosch after her victory discussing the pageant as a platform for women to have a voice.
