Miranda Lambert released “Wranglers” on May 3, 2024, as the lead single from Postcards from Texas. She described its central idea as a woman taking her power back after being hurt: the Wrangler jeans in the title and hook serve that story, not a recommendation to buy the brand.
What is “Wranglers” about?
Lambert framed the song as “a classic tale of a woman taking her power back.” In her account, the character seeks strength and revenge after being wronged. That puts “Wranglers” in the fiery, revenge-song tradition associated with Lambert, but it does not establish that the story is autobiographical. Source: song-context reporting.
The jeans are part of the song’s imagery: the title and hook refer to Wrangler-brand jeans. The point is the character and her response to hurt, rather than the product itself.
When was it released, and what album is it on?

In an Associated Press interview published October 2, 2026, Lambert reflected that much of her career had involved fiery and heartbreak songs, while describing her then-current album Crisco as joyful and exploratory. That later reflection provides broader career context; it is not evidence that she changed her interpretation of “Wranglers.” Associated Press interview published October 2, 2026.
