Mattel’s official A Minecraft Movie toy line includes multiple movie-inspired Steve action figures, but the product descriptions reviewed do not identify them as Jack Black likeness figures. The distinction matters: Jack Black stars in the film, while Mattel describes the toys as Steve figures without stating that they depict the actor.
Are the Minecraft Movie action figures Jack Black figures?
Not according to the official product descriptions reviewed. Mattel identifies its movie-inspired figures as Steve and describes their connection to the film, but does not say they reproduce Jack Black’s likeness. The official movie site lists Black among the stars of A Minecraft Movie; that establishes his role in the film, not the identity or likeness of a specific toy.
So “Jack Black action figures” is understandable search phrasing, but the verifiable description is “Minecraft Movie Steve figures.”
Which Steve figures and sets does Mattel list?
12-inch Steve figure
Mattel’s 12-inch Steve figure is a standalone, 12-inch-scale figure with posability and movie-inspired details. The page says it includes one figure, is marked for ages 6 and up, and can be used to recreate scenes or invent new ones. Figures are sold separately and subject to availability.

How to compare the official toys
| Product | Format and scale | What is included | Age marking |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12-inch Steve figure | Standalone figure; 12-inch scale | One figure | 6 years and up |
| Ultimate Movie Set | Multi-figure set; 4-inch scale | Eight named figures and eight accessories | 6 years and up |
These product details come from Mattel’s individual pages. If choosing between them, the practical differences are scale and format: a larger single Steve figure versus a smaller ensemble with accessories.
Where to check availability
Minecraft’s official movie merchandise page links to retailers including Amazon, Target, Walmart, and the Minecraft Official Shop. It links selected products, such as the official coloring book and Dennis the Wolf plush, to Amazon; it does not verify an Amazon listing for either the 12-inch Steve figure or the Ultimate Movie Set. Check the exact product, seller, current availability, and price before buying.
