Why the store held more than work memories
The family’s goodbye was to Two Chicks District Co., Mina’s Indianapolis store, which had closed in late 2023. Mina described how its meaning had grown beyond its retail role: “It’s a lot more than just a store,” she said. “It’s all these memories and hopes and losses, tied into this one place that we’re now walking away from, and things are very different.”
#1 Best Overall
Her recollection connected the place where she received the news with a family turning point: as the Hawks left the store behind, Mina reflected on the memories and grief attached to it.
