What Miley Cyrus said happened
During a May 2025 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Cyrus recounted becoming seriously ill after filming on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in October 2024. She said the filming involved rolling on the pavement and later connected that experience with the infection. That is her account of a possible exposure; the reporting does not medically confirm where or how the infection began. NME’s account of the interview quotes her describing the episode.
Cyrus said that by Thanksgiving she had a “brutal” infection around her kneecap and was briefly placed in the ICU. She recalled a doctor asking, “Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?” ANSA’s report also attributes the account to her televised interview.
What “my leg began to disintegrate” means
NME reported Cyrus’s words as: “My leg began to disintegrate … around the kneecap area.” The phrase describes how she experienced or remembered the illness. The reports do not establish that the kneecap itself anatomically disintegrated, nor do they provide a precise clinical diagnosis. Infobae’s report likewise presents the episode as Cyrus’s account.
