What happened in Mike Rowe’s story?
Rowe recounted meeting Morse during a Lyft ride and talking with him about his work making small custom campers. A report published in 2023 reproduced this line from Rowe’s Facebook post: “Somewhere behind his mustache, Mike might have smiled, as I walked into the only airport in America named for a cowboy who never met a man he didn’t like.” The sentence refers to the airport setting and reflects Rowe’s storytelling style; it is not a description of the camper business.
The story brought attention to Morse’s Oklahoma City business, but it does not establish the company’s current demand, sales or availability. The Oklahoman report, republished by Yahoo News, recounts the 2023 post.
Who is Mike Morse?
Morse’s biography says his work background includes plumbing assistance, heating and air conditioning, framing, trim and commercial carpentry, cabinets, and furniture. He says he built his first pair of campers in 2013 and grew his shop into a small trailer-making operation. These are Morse’s own descriptions, not independent credentials or a quality assessment. What kind of camper does Mike’s Pretty Good Campers make?
The company’s site describes compact teardrop trailers with a sleeping cabin and rear kitchen galley. Its overview mentions room for a queen-size mattress, cabinets, USB ports, 110-volt outlets and retro-style laminate countertops. The detailed camper page gives a bed measurement of 60 by 75 inches; buyers should use that published dimension rather than assume every queen mattress will fit. Buyers comparing trailers should distinguish these published specifications from equipment that may be customized or added separately.

A portable power station for camping is one of the options named by the builder. The camper page separately lists USB ports, 110-volt outlets and shore power, but the pages do not specify a power station brand, capacity, wiring setup or compatibility requirements. For a meaningful comparison with another small trailer, put total length and width, empty and tongue weight, bed size, water capacity, power connections, included equipment, customization, current price and lead time side by side. The published figures here provide some of those points, but they do not support a claim that this camper is better than a competitor.
