Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is a licensed retro-style Power Rangers game from developer Digital Eclipse. Its core is 2-D beat-’em-up action, but official descriptions also include arcade-style shooting and driving, Dinozord piloting, and Megazord battles. It was released on December 10, 2024, for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
What kind of game is Rita’s Rewind?
The beat-’em-up label fits: the game features side-scrolling, 2-D action against enemies from the television series. But it is not described as brawling alone. The official PlayStation listing also calls out arcade-style shooting and driving sequences, while its Power Rangers framing includes piloting the original Dinozords and fighting as the Megazord. PlayStation Blog highlighted a first-person Megazord boss encounter.
That mix makes “retro arcade action” a useful broader description. These are official descriptions of the game’s content, not a claim based on independent playtesting.

Digital Eclipse developed Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind. Hasbro introduced it as a new licensed digital game on December 12, 2024, and the PlayStation listing names Atari Inc. as publisher. The listed release date is December 10, 2024.
