Who is Michelle Yeoh playing?

The recurring guest-star cast includes Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke and Maurizio Lombardi. These are recurring guest roles, distinct from the series-regular cast.

What is the series about?
Amazon’s synopsis places the story in a Los Angeles reborn 50 years after Blade Runner 2049. Cora, a fugitive, assumes one last identity as a Blade Runner and is forced to work with Olwen. Together they pursue a runaway whose secret could threaten the city’s fragile order.
Showrunner Silka Luisa has described a wider shift in the fictional world: according to GamesRadar’s report quoting Luisa via Entertainment Weekly, an uprising has been brewing, a war has taken place, and replicants have become the city’s power brokers while humans have become second-class citizens. That is additional world-building attributed to the showrunner, not the wording of Amazon’s official synopsis.

Where can you watch it, and should you watch the earlier films first?
Blade Runner 2099 is announced as a Prime Video exclusive. Amazon says the 1982 original, Blade Runner, and the 2017 sequel, Blade Runner 2049, can be rented or bought on Prime Video. That is a digital rental or purchase option for the films, not an announcement that they are included with a Prime membership.
The new series follows Blade Runner 2049 by five decades, so the sequel provides the closest timeline context. The original is useful background for the franchise’s origins: it adapts Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, as noted by GamesRadar. Amazon has not said that watching either film is required to follow the series.
