Michael Jackson’s three children are Prince, Paris, and Bigi. They have each developed a different public profile: Prince has expressed an interest in producing and directing, Paris pursues music, and Bigi has been reported to work in film. Their father’s fame remains part of their public stories, but the siblings have not taken identical roles in projects about him.
Who are Michael Jackson’s children?
A 2009 court filing identifies the children by their legal names as Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr.; Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson; and Prince Michael Jackson II. They are commonly known publicly as Prince, Paris, and Bigi. The filing also names Katherine Jackson as their temporary guardian at that time; it is a historical record, not a description of present circumstances. Read the 2009 court filing.
| Child | Reported birth date | Publicly reported parentage or birth circumstances | Public work described in the cited profiles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prince Jackson | February 13, 1997 | Reported as the son of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe | Interested in producing and directing |
| Paris Jackson | April 3, 1998 | Reported as the daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe | Music |
| Bigi Jackson | February 21, 2002 | Reportedly born via a surrogate; the surrogate’s identity is not established in the cited coverage | Film work, including the short film Rochelles, as reported by Parade |
The birth dates and family details in this table come from biographical and entertainment reporting rather than birth records. Biography.com’s Prince profile and Parade’s profile of the Jackson children report the dates and relationships. Public reporting does not establish the identity of Bigi’s surrogate, so speculation about private biological details would go beyond what is known.
What is known about each sibling’s public life?
Prince Jackson
Prince, the eldest, was born Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. on February 13, 1997, according to Biography.com. These are reported milestones and interests, not a complete account of his current work.

In a 2017 Rolling Stone interview quoted by Biography.com, Prince responded to questions about his biological father by saying: “Every time someone asks me that, I ask, ‘What’s the point? What difference does it make?’ Specifically to someone who’s not involved in my life. How does that affect your life? It doesn’t change mine.” His answer addresses that question in that interview; it should not be taken as a statement on behalf of his siblings.
Paris Jackson
Paris, born April 3, 1998, is publicly known for her music career. Parade reports that Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe were her parents. In an August 2026 El País interview, Paris said she met Rowe when she was 15. That is Paris’s account of a particular meeting, not a full history of their relationship. Read El País’s August 2026 report.
Bigi Jackson
Bigi, born February 21, 2002, was previously known as Blanket. Parade reports that he was born via a surrogate and has pursued film work, including the short Rochelles. The cited coverage does not establish the surrogate’s identity or provide a comprehensive account of Bigi’s private life or current projects.
How have the siblings responded to projects about their father?
Their public involvement has differed. In April 2026, El País reported that Paris criticized the biopic Michael, saying she had not participated and objecting to what she described as inaccuracies and lies. The same report said Prince and Bigi were involved in the film, and attributed Prince’s daily presence on set during filming to producer Graham King. These details concern one production and one period; they do not establish a shared or permanent position among the siblings about their father’s legacy. Read El País’s April 2026 report.
Why did Michael Jackson keep his children out of public view?
Michael Jackson said he wanted his children to have more privacy than he had experienced growing up. After Prince’s birth, he was quoted as saying: “I grew up in a fish bowl and will not allow the same to happen to my child. Please respect our wishes and give my son his privacy.” Parade reproduces that statement. It helps explain the family’s early approach to public exposure, without implying that the siblings have all chosen the same level of visibility as adults.
