Melanie Griffith has three biological children: Alexander Bauer, Dakota Johnson and Stella Banderas. Jesse Johnson is not her biological child; he is Don Johnson’s son and Dakota’s half-brother, so his name appears in broader accounts of the blended family.
How many children does Melanie Griffith have?
Griffith has three biological children. Their fathers are Steven Bauer, Don Johnson and Antonio Banderas. Four names are sometimes grouped in coverage of the wider family because Jesse Johnson is Don Johnson’s son and Dakota Johnson’s half-brother, not because he is Griffith’s biological child.

Stella Banderas
Stella Banderas is Griffith and Antonio Banderas’s daughter. El País reported that she married Alex Gruszynski in Spain in October 2025. El País’s report on Banderas and Griffith also identifies Stella as their daughter.
Why is Jesse Johnson included in family coverage?
Jesse Johnson is Don Johnson’s son with Patti D’Arbanville and Dakota’s half-brother. His inclusion reflects the blended-family connection through Don Johnson. The available reporting does not establish details about Griffith’s role in raising Jesse, so it is more accurate to describe the specific relationships than to assign him a more personal label.

In an August 2026 report, El País quoted Banderas describing his separation from Griffith as amicable and important for their children. His words, in Spanish, were: “Terminamos nuestra relación de una forma agradable, lo cual fue muy importante para los niños y para nosotros.” That is Banderas’s account of the separation, not a statement about how every family member experienced it.
