In a March 6, 2025, PEOPLE interview republished by AOL, she described the procedure, her recovery and why she felt ready for it.
What Meghan Trainor said she had done
Trainor told PEOPLE that she underwent a breast lift with augmentation at the beginning of 2025 with Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Payman Danielpour. She identified her implants as Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix 290 mini implants. These are details from Trainor’s interview, not an independent assessment of her procedure or device.
She said she had considered cosmetic surgery since her teens. After weight fluctuations and two pregnancies, she wanted a lift and fuller breasts. Those are her stated reasons, not a clinical explanation of how pregnancy or weight changes affect any other person’s breasts.
Her description of the procedure
Trainor described the operation as a full anchor lift with an incision around the areola, down the center and underneath, combined with an implant. That description reflects what she said in the interview; it should not be taken as a detailed account of another patient’s surgical options.

Why she says she chose surgery
Trainor said she felt ready and that the decision was for herself. “It was a big decision, but it felt like I was just doing something for me. This was my present to myself,” she said.
She also linked her sense of comfort to personal growth and therapy: “Maybe it’s because I’m in my 30s now and I’m better. I’ve been working with a therapist for a long time, trying to rewire my brain to love myself more.” She told PEOPLE, “I have never been more comfortable in my body.” These are her reflections on her own experience, not evidence that surgery produces confidence or changes body image for everyone.

Trainor summed up her satisfaction by saying, “These are the boobs of my dreams.” She also framed the decision as individual: “It can help your confidence so much if you want — or you’re beautiful and perfect as you are, whatever makes you happiest.” Her words describe her view; they are not a medical recommendation or a predicted outcome for someone else.
What she shared about recovery
Trainor said she wore a surgical bra while recovering and used scar tape around her new areolas. She described having little pain and a mostly easy recovery, while also saying she felt fragile and could not lift her children for a period. Her account does not establish a typical recovery timeline, pain level, or care routine, and it is not an endorsement of a particular bra or tape. Patients should follow their own clinician’s instructions.

What the FDA says people considering implants should know
The FDA advises that breast implants are not lifetime devices. Over time, the likelihood of complications or additional surgery—including removal or replacement—can become more relevant. Possible complications listed by the agency include capsular contracture, reoperation, implant removal, rupture or deflation, asymmetry, pain, scarring and infection. See the FDA’s Risks and Complications of Breast Implants and Things to Consider Before Getting Breast Implants.
Monitoring and future care
Silicone implant rupture can be silent. The FDA identifies MRI as the most effective method for detecting silent rupture and ultrasound as an acceptable screening alternative for people without symptoms. Monitoring decisions should be discussed with a health-care provider; the FDA’s guidance is not a personalized screening schedule.

Questions to discuss before deciding
The FDA recommends reviewing device-specific labeling and a patient decision checklist with the clinician who would perform the operation. Its patient guidance covers issues such as expected recovery, risks, possible future operations, follow-up, breastfeeding and effects on mammograms. Read the agency’s Breast Implant Surgery information and discuss how those considerations apply to your circumstances.
Trainor’s interview also relayed a complication estimate of “less than a 1% chance,” which she said she had been given. The reporting does not identify the study, population, outcome measured or follow-up period behind that figure, so it cannot be treated here as a verified general risk rate or as an estimate for her individual case.

What this interview can—and cannot—tell readers
The interview offers Trainor’s personal account of her choice, procedure and recovery. It does not establish what another person’s results, risks, pain, recovery or emotional response would be. For decisions about implants, device-specific information and a candid discussion with a qualified clinician matter more than a celebrity’s outcome.
