Where and why the reception took place
Meghan and Prince Harry attended the late-afternoon reception at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters Officers Mess in Abuja. The reception was one engagement during the couple’s three-day visit to Nigeria, which took place at the invitation of the country’s military. What Meghan wore
Meghan’s Mirror identified the dress as St. Agni’s Strapless Column Maxi Dress in Off-White. Its report also named Aquazzura “So Nude” 105 sandals in pink and vintage gold-knot earrings by Christian Dior. These are fashion-site identifications, not confirmations from Meghan or the brands.

Glam’s trip recap likewise described the reception look as a white column dress and said Meghan wore Diana’s cross necklace, which Harry had presented to her. The Nigeria trip beyond the outfit
The visit included military, youth and sports engagements. At a separate Giants of Africa event, the Associated Press reported Prince Harry saying, “The power of sport can change lives. It brings people together and creates community and there are no barriers, which is the most important thing.” The remark was made at that event, not at the reception.
Another outfit during the trip involved aso oke, a patterned handwoven fabric often wrapped around the waist and worn for special occasions. The Associated Press reported that Meghan’s aso oke was a gift from a group of women. It was a separate look, not the white reception dress.
