On June 4, 2025, Meghan Markle shared a throwback video of herself and Prince Harry dancing in what reports describe as a hospital labor-and-delivery room. The post marked daughter Lilibet’s fourth birthday. Meghan’s caption jokingly recalled trying spicy food, walking and acupuncture before turning to dancing; it was a personal anecdote, not evidence that dancing induces labor.
What Meghan’s birthday post showed
Meghan shared the video on Instagram on June 4, 2025, alongside birthday tributes to Lilibet. Contemporary coverage describes Meghan, visibly pregnant and wearing a black dress, dancing first, with Harry joining her. Reporters identified the setting as a hospital labor-and-delivery room, but the footage’s metadata and exact filming circumstances have not been independently established. People’s report republished by AOL and The New Daily’s coverage reproduce the post’s account.
Meghan’s reported caption began, “Four years ago today, this also happened.” She added that both children had been a week past their due dates and joked that, after spicy food, walking and acupuncture failed to work, “there was only one thing left to do!” The wording presents the dance playfully; it does not establish that any of those activities caused labor to begin.
What song is in the video?
Contemporary reports identify the song as “The Baby Momma Dance.” The Royal Observer names a version by The Drake Family, while another report attributes the track to Starrkeisha; the exact recording credit is therefore not settled by the reporting. The Royal Observer’s account contains the differing attribution. The song title is the safer identification unless the original post’s audio credit is checked.

Harry had described the dance in Spare
The hospital-room dance was not new to readers of Harry’s memoir. Published in 2023, Spare reportedly recounts the couple eating and then doing the “Baby Mama dance” around the hospital room. Contemporary coverage quotes Harry’s reflection: “Nothing but joy and love in that room.” Those lines are reported excerpts from the memoir, rather than text independently checked here. People/AOL and The New Daily report the connection.
How the post fits the timeline
- June 4, 2021: Lilibet was born, according to contemporaneous coverage. People’s report, republished by AOL, names Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital; The New Daily also reports the birth date.
- 2023: Harry’s memoir Spare reportedly described the couple’s hospital-room dance.
- June 4, 2025: Meghan posted the throwback video for Lilibet’s fourth birthday.
A later 2026 article recounts commentary disputing the clip’s timing and says those claims could not be independently verified. It also reports Meghan later referred to the footage as four years old. That account does not establish an exact filming date or independently prove the circumstances shown. IBTimes UK’s report describes the disputed interpretation; the most careful description is a throwback that reporting associates with the time around Lilibet’s birth.
