Megan Thee Stallion called Pinterest the best app “in my opinion, right now” when she spoke at Adweek’s Social Media Week in New York on April 10, 2024. She said she liked being able to curate what appeared in her feed. That was a snapshot of her preference then—not confirmation of her favorite app today.
What Megan said about Pinterest
Megan described Pinterest as an app where she could focus on the things she wanted to see. She joked that she could spend the day looking at puppies, and named makeup, breakfast ideas, workout videos and “booty shorts” among her interests. She did not share her Pinterest handle. Uproxx reported her comments and the subjects she mentioned; TechCrunch covered the event remarks.
Why Pinterest appealed to her
The reason Megan gave was control over what she saw: she could curate her feed around chosen interests instead of encountering an unpredictable stream. Pinterest is built around visual discovery—people search for ideas, save images and videos to boards, and shape recommendations through their activity. That interest-led format can feel different from platforms organized around frequent public updates, but it does not make Pinterest inherently safer or free from advertising and recommendation algorithms.
Megan’s remarks were about curation; she did not say Pinterest was better for her mental health. The distinction matters: the broader interpretation may be tempting, but it is not the explanation she gave.
Did she quit Instagram and Twitter?
No. Megan said she had deleted Instagram and Twitter/X from her phone while continuing to use TikTok and Pinterest. Removing an app from a phone does not establish that someone closed or abandoned the account, and she did not announce a permanent departure from either service. Uproxx’s account makes the phone-versus-account distinction clear.
Does Megan have a public Pinterest account?
The coverage of her comments does not verify a public personal Pinterest account for fans to follow. Megan declined to reveal her handle, so an account should not be identified as hers without confirmation from her or an official source. A campaign or collaboration board is not proof that a private account is publicly identifiable.

Her Pinterest connection predates the 2024 remarks
Megan had already worked with Pinterest: the platform’s newsroom lists her participation in its 2021 Creators Festival as part of its “Create Your Take” activation. TechCrunch also reported other promotional activity, including a Pinterest board with singer Reneé Rapp promoting a song. That history provides context for her comments, but does not establish that her Social Media Week remarks were paid for or scripted. Pinterest’s announcement describes the Creators Festival activation.

A major rapper naming Pinterest rather than Instagram, TikTok or X made for an unexpected headline. The appeal is also easy to picture: instead of describing a platform only in broad terms, Megan gave a specific mix of puppies, makeup, breakfast, workouts and fashion. Her comments offer a glimpse of an interest-led way to use social media, not a claim that Pinterest is universally better or that she has stopped using other platforms.
