What happened at the Atlanta rally?
The rally took place on July 30, 2024, at Georgia State University’s Convocation Center. It was Harris’s first Atlanta visit as the Democratic Party’s presumptive presidential nominee, according to Atlanta News First. A contemporaneous Vice Presidential pool report described it as the campaign’s largest rally to that point, attributing that characterization to a Harris campaign official.

The pool report placed Megan onstage from 6:41 to 6:48 p.m., before Harris spoke. It listed four songs: “Girls in the Hood,” “Mamushi,” “Body” and “Savage.” The same report said a campaign official estimated 10,000 attendees before the event and later reported a count exceeding 10,000. Those are campaign-reported figures, not an independently verified final attendance total. The pool report documents the set and remarks but does not characterize a particular dance move.
What did Megan say about voting?
During “Body,” Megan tied the song’s celebration of women’s bodies to the election. The pool report recorded her saying: “Now I know my ladies in the crowd love their bodies – and if you want to keep loving your body, you know who to vote for.”

It also recorded her saying, “We’re about to make history with the first female president. The first black female president. Let’s get this done honey.” The Independent gave the closing words a different version in its account: “We about to make history with the first female president – the first Black female president. Let’s get this done, hotties. Hotties for Harris.” These are source-specific transcriptions, not one standardized transcript.
How did she respond to criticism?
The performance drew criticism over what The Independent described as suggestive dancing. That reaction is separate from the pool report’s factual listing of songs and remarks. At her Lollapalooza headline appearance on August 1, Megan responded to the criticism, according to The Independent, which reported her remarks on August 2: “They was fake mad I was popping it for Kamala and I don’t think they heard what she said.”

What the appearance does—and does not—show
The documented record establishes that Megan performed before Harris’s speech and used part of her set to encourage voting for Harris. It does not establish that the appearance changed voter registration, turnout, campaign support or election results. The reported crowd size is not evidence of any such effect.
