In Julia Quinn’s novels, all eight siblings have a featured partner, while Netflix’s documented story through Season 4 has established marriages for Daphne, Anthony, Benedict, and Colin. Francesca’s relationships differ between the books and the show, and the cited Netflix family guide does not identify spouses for Eloise, Gregory, or Hyacinth.
Who are the Bridgerton siblings’ spouses in the books?
Julia Quinn’s official family tree pairs each Bridgerton sibling with the partner at the center of that sibling’s novel. These are the book romances; their details do not necessarily carry over to the Netflix adaptation.
| Sibling | Book partner | Novel |
|---|---|---|
| Daphne | Simon | The Duke and I |
| Anthony | Kate | The Viscount Who Loved Me |
| Benedict | Sophie | An Offer from a Gentleman |
| Colin | Penelope | Romancing Mister Bridgerton |
| Eloise | Phillip | To Sir Phillip, With Love |
| Francesca | Michael | When He Was Wicked |
| Hyacinth | Gareth | It’s in His Kiss |
| Gregory | Lucy | On the Way to the Wedding |
The book titles also offer a reading path through the eight sibling romances. The pairings are listed on Julia Quinn’s official Bridgerton family-tree page.
Which Bridgertons are married in the Netflix show through Season 4?
Netflix Tudum’s family guide documents the following marriages in the adaptation. Benedict and Sophie’s wedding is confirmed in the Season 4 finale’s mid-credits scene.

| Sibling | Netflix status through Season 4 | How it compares with the books |
|---|---|---|
| Daphne | Married to Simon | Same named partner as the novel |
| Anthony | Married to Kate | Same named partner as the novel |
| Benedict | Married to Sophie | Same named partner as the novel |
| Colin | Married to Penelope | Same named partner as the novel |
| Francesca | Married John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin; John dies within their first year, leaving her a young widow | The novel pairs Francesca with Michael |
| Eloise | Not yet identified as married in the show coverage cited here | The novel pairs her with Phillip |
| Hyacinth | Not yet identified as married in the show coverage cited here | The novel pairs her with Gareth |
| Gregory | Not yet identified as married in the show coverage cited here | The novel pairs him with Lucy |
The adaptation status comes from Netflix Tudum’s Bridgerton family guide, dated March 24, 2026; the wedding-scene detail is confirmed in its Season 4 ending explainer. “Not yet identified as married” describes what that coverage establishes, not what may happen in a later season.
Why is Francesca’s pairing different in the books and show?
In Quinn’s novels, Francesca’s featured partner is Michael. In the Netflix story documented through Season 4, she marries John Stirling, who dies within the first year of their marriage. The Netflix family guide introduces Michaela as John’s cousin, but does not identify Michaela as Francesca’s spouse. The show coverage therefore does not establish the same pairing as the book, and it would be inaccurate to present Michaela as Francesca’s confirmed wife.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Are the Bridgerton book couples the same as the couples in the show?
For Daphne, Anthony, Benedict, and Colin, the named partners match across the novels and Netflix’s documented marriages through Season 4. Francesca’s book partner is Michael, while the show guide documents her marriage to John and introduces his cousin Michaela without naming her as Francesca’s spouse. For Eloise, Hyacinth, and Gregory, the novels identify partners, but the cited Netflix coverage does not yet identify them as married.
For the adaptation’s broader relationship context, see Netflix Tudum’s couples guide. Netflix says the romances stream on its service; the guide’s status reflects coverage through Season 4, not any later developments.
