Ruth & Boaz stars Serayah and Tyler Lepley play a couple in the 2025 Netflix romantic drama, but a September 2025 report identified different partners in their off-screen lives: Serayah was engaged to Joey Bada$$, and Lepley was engaged to Miracle Watts. Those details—and the other cast relationships covered here—reflect what was reported at that time, not confirmation of anyone’s status today.
Are Serayah and Tyler Lepley together in real life?
No. The film’s central romance is fictional: Netflix identifies Serayah as Ruth and Tyler Lepley as Boaz in its official cast guide. A People feature republished by Yahoo on September 26, 2025 reported that Serayah was engaged to Joey Bada$$ and Lepley was engaged to Miracle Watts. The feature is the source for the personal-life details below; it does not establish whether those relationships have changed since publication.
The film is a contemporary retelling of the biblical story set in Tennessee. Netflix’s guide describes Ruth as a singer who leaves Atlanta, cares for Naomi, and meets Boaz. Director Alanna Brown explained that the story gives Ruth’s bond with Naomi weight alongside the romance: “Usually with a love story, the main character meets their love interest within the first 10 minutes of the film. This script was crafted such that the person Ruth meets around minute 10 is actually Naomi. The Ruth and Naomi love story is set up to be just as important as the Ruth and Boaz love story. Ultimately, it’s Naomi who leads Ruth to Boaz, so those two pieces are woven together.”

Netflix also notes that the film’s five-song companion EP includes “Faithful,” “Goodness of God,” “Prayer for Your Journey,” “Money Rules,” and “Wildflowers.” The music sits alongside the contemporary retelling, but the film’s fictional romance should not be read as evidence that its leads are a real-life couple.
