Robbie Williams is Port Vale’s clearest celebrity supporter: the club calls him a lifelong fan and has named him Honorary Club President and a Port Vale Foundation ambassador. England cricketer Danni Wyatt-Hodge is another supporter profiled by the Foundation. Phil Taylor has also been reported as a Vale fan, but that claim is supported here by secondary reporting rather than a direct club confirmation.
Robbie Williams: a lifelong fan with official club roles
Port Vale says Williams has supported the club since childhood. In an announcement dated 12 June 2026, the club described him as a “life-long supporter” and announced a two-year partnership: he would serve as a Port Vale Foundation ambassador, and his “RW” mark would appear on the home and away shirts for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons. The club said the 2026/27 home shirt was available through its Club Store and online shop. Port Vale’s announcement is the source for the partnership and shirt details.
His presidency came earlier. On 3 February 2024, Port Vale announced Williams as club president, alongside John Rudge, who already held the title. The club reported Williams saying: “There were many, many years where I wasn’t at Port Vale. But Port Vale were always in my heart, they were, and they always will be.” The club’s announcement records the appointment and the attributed remark.
Williams’s connection is also rooted in the area around Vale Park. Port Vale’s current Foundation ambassador profile says he was born and raised near the ground in Burslem in 1974, and that his parents ran the nearby Red Lion pub. The club profile also notes a Burslem coat-of-arms tattoo. These are details published by the club, rather than independently verified here.

Williams described the stadium’s importance in the club’s 2026 announcement: “I started going to the Vale when it was 50p for a junior supporter to get in. It takes a village to raise a child, and the Railway Paddock at Vale Park raised me.” The club profile says he returned for a homecoming concert at Vale Park in 2022, which it reports drew 20,000 fans. The same undated profile credits him with 18 Brit Awards and seven UK No. 1 singles; those figures are club-published biographical details.
Danni Wyatt-Hodge: a supporter introduced to Vale by family
Port Vale’s Foundation profile also identifies England cricketer Danni Wyatt-Hodge as a Vale supporter. It says she first entered the ground with her grandfather when she was eight. That family introduction makes her connection different from Williams’s formal club roles, while still providing a club-published account of her support. The Foundation’s ambassador page is the source for this profile.

Phil Taylor: reported as a supporter, but less firmly documented
Phil Taylor, the former professional darts player, has been reported as a Port Vale supporter. The available source trail here is secondary: Taylor’s biography page states that he supports the club and references a talkSPORT article dated 22 November 2023. No direct Taylor statement or official Port Vale profile confirming his fandom is established by those sources. It is therefore more accurate to say he has been reported as a Vale fan than to present him as a club-confirmed supporter. The biography page gives the secondary attribution.
How the three connections compare
| Name | What the available sources establish | Nature of connection |
|---|---|---|
| Robbie Williams | Port Vale calls him a lifelong supporter and lists him as Honorary Club President and Foundation ambassador. | Longstanding local connection and formal club roles. |
| Danni Wyatt-Hodge | The Foundation identifies her as a Vale supporter and says she first visited with her grandfather at eight. | Supporter experience and family introduction. |
| Phil Taylor | A secondary biography reports that he supports Port Vale; the evidence here does not include direct or official club confirmation. | Reported support, with a less direct source trail. |
These examples show different kinds of association, not a ranking of who is the “biggest” fan. The sources do not establish a definitive list or total number of Port Vale celebrity supporters.

What to know about the Vale Park concert dates
A Port Vale announcement dated 27 November 2019 advertised a concert planned for 20 June 2020. That announcement is evidence of the plan, not proof the event took place on that date. The club’s later ambassador profile separately describes Williams’s Vale Park homecoming concert as having taken place in 2022. The 2019 announcement and the club’s current profile distinguish the planned date from the later concert account.
