Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. is the actor who portrays his father, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, in STARZ’s drama BMF. The series is inspired by the Flenory brothers’ story, but it is a dramatization—not a documentary record of every scene or line of dialogue.
Who is Lil Meech in BMF?
Lil Meech is the professional name used by Demetrius Flenory Jr. STARZ lists him among the stars of BMF, and a 2025 interview with WPLG Local 10 identifies his role as playing his father, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory. The family connection is central to the casting: the actor is portraying a real person who is his father.
Local 10’s August 2025 profile also describes Flenory Jr. as born and raised in Miami. In that interview, he spoke about pursuing modeling and entrepreneurship alongside acting and said he hoped to work with Denzel Washington. Those are comments and ambitions from that interview, not a complete account of his career or a guarantee of future projects. Read the Local 10 interview.
What is BMF about?
STARZ describes BMF as a drama inspired by the story of brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, who came from southwest Detroit in the late 1980s. The series frames their family and community relationships alongside the criminal organization that became known as the Black Mafia Family. STARZ identifies Da’Vinchi as the actor playing Terry.

That description is the network’s promotional framing. The show dramatizes real people and events; its scenes, dialogue, and story choices should not be treated as independently verified historical evidence. For reporting about the real people, consult independent journalism and distinguish it from the series itself. The Associated Press reported in October 2024 on the brothers and the series’ arrival at STARZ in 2021; its article’s custody details describe the situation at that time, not necessarily the present. What did Lil Meech say about community work?
In the Local 10 interview published August 16, 2025, and updated August 18, Flenory Jr. said he planned to visit schools and colleges with his father to encourage young people. He put it in future-tense terms: “We’re gonna be able to go around different schools and colleges, me and him both, and talk to the kids, get them some words of encouragement.” The interview records a plan he described at that time, not confirmation that the visits later took place.
