Matt Roloff and Caryn Chandler did get engaged in 2023, but they are no longer planning to marry. On July 22, 2025, Roloff announced that they had decided to part ways and end their engagement.
Was Matt Roloff engaged to Caryn Chandler?
Yes. After six years together, Roloff proposed to Chandler, and the couple announced their engagement in 2023. “After six wonderful years together, I asked Caryn to marry me and she said yes!” he said in TLC’s announcement.

At the time, Roloff said they hoped to have “a simple but elegant wedding in 2024.” That was their plan when they announced the engagement, not a current wedding date.
Why did the engagement end?
In a statement posted to Instagram on July 22, 2025, Roloff said the two had decided to part ways and end their engagement. The Miami Herald reproduced his statement: “Caryn (Chandler) and I have decided to part ways & end our engagement. Life’s a continued journey and this is the right step for us at this time. We remain amicable and will always appreciate the many wonderful memories we have shared.”

His statement did not give a specific reason for the split. Its description of the separation as amicable is Roloff’s characterization.

Chandler had worked as a manager at Roloff Farms, the Oregon property associated with the family’s TLC reality series, Little People, Big World. Roloff is Amy Roloff’s former husband; the former couple share four children. Us Weekly reported that Amy had described her relationship with Chandler as cordial and discussed filming the show alongside Matt and Caryn.
