The episode aired October 16, 2025, according to Rotten Tomatoes’ episode listing. Its central conflict puts Matty’s urgency to expose the Wellbrexa matter against Olympia’s insistence on protecting her family and building a case against Senior.
Matty thinks she has the Wellbrexa study
Matty and her husband, Edwin, begin preparing to take a document to a New York Times reporter. They had taken it from Olympia’s home safe in the Season 2 premiere, believing it to be the Wellbrexa study.

#1 Best Overall
Olympia confronts Matty, who admits taking the document and offers to bring her to the reporter meeting. Matty hopes that involving Olympia will help protect her family while bringing the evidence into the open. Olympia responds that the document is not the study at all: she says Julian, her former husband, hid the genuine study in a safety-deposit box for years, and she put a decoy in the safe to keep Julian from destroying the evidence.
Matty and Olympia disagree over what justice requires
Olympia wants the case to implicate Senior, Julian’s father, whom she says directed the concealment to protect the pharmaceutical client. She argues that Julian acted on his father’s orders. Matty rejects that as an excuse: Julian could have refused, she argues, and the evidence might have saved lives—including her daughter’s.
Rank #2
Their approaches carry different risks. Matty wants to take what she believes is evidence to the press and accept the consequences. Olympia wants more time, a stronger case against Senior, and a path that protects her family. But neither plan rests on confirmed possession of the genuine study: the document from the safe is a decoy, and Olympia’s account of another copy has not been verified.
Olympia gains the upper hand with a fake study and a recording
Olympia stops Matty from going to the planned Times meeting and takes Edwin on a drive to retrieve the supposed genuine study from a Connecticut safety-deposit box. She later leaves Edwin stranded after taking his phone. Instead of the study, she gives Matty a fake document with blank pages.

In their confrontation, Olympia uses what she knows about Matty and Edwin’s secret investigation to provoke Matty into an incriminating outburst. Olympia has secretly recorded the exchange. Rather than hand over the Wellbrexa evidence, she sends Matty the audio.
The shift is tactical, not a settled end to their relationship. As TV Guide’s episode analysis characterizes the first two episodes, the power dynamic seesaws; here, Olympia’s decoy and recording put Matty on the defensive. The recording gives Olympia leverage because it could expose the investigation that Matty and Edwin have been conducting in secret.
Rank #4
The real study remains a question at the end
The episode does not establish where the genuine Wellbrexa study is—or confirm that Olympia’s claimed Connecticut copy exists. The apparent retrieval fails to produce it, and the ending leaves the document’s location unresolved. That uncertainty matters: Matty’s planned disclosure is disrupted, but neither character has conclusively put the real study in play.

The team is also tasked with protecting a witness. Separately, Matty and Edwin consider helping Alfie’s father, Joey, with sobriety. According to TV Insider’s recap, they agree to pay for a place for Joey at a rehab center, but he still has to decide whether to accept.
