Mark Zuckerberg and T-Pain released an acoustic cover of Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz’ 2002 crunk hit “Get Low” in November 2024, performing under the name Z-Pain. Zuckerberg said the song had played when he first met Priscilla Chan at a college party, and that they listen to it each year on their dating anniversary. He described the cover as a tribute to her.
Why Zuckerberg chose “Get Low”
Zuckerberg explained the personal connection in an Instagram post, as reported by The Guardian: “Get Low was playing when I first met Priscilla at a college party, so every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary,” he wrote. He added that he had worked with T-Pain on “our own version of this lyrical masterpiece.”
Chan responded to the release, according to The Guardian: “21 years later, I can’t get quite as low, but it brings back a lot of fun memories.” The anniversary story was the stated reason for the cover; it does not, by itself, establish anything about the track’s broader reception.
How the Z-Pain cover differs from the original
The original “Get Low,” released by Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz in 2002, is a crunk track. The 2024 version keeps the same song but shifts it into a slower acoustic arrangement. NME reported that Zuckerberg led most of the vocals, while T-Pain added backing vocals, ad-libs and a verse. The lyrics remained explicit.

The collaboration was presented as a cover, not a new original song. T-Pain announced it as Z-Pain; PA Media, in its report for The Guardian, quoted his post: “Z-Pain has arrived … Get Low by zuck and me out now.”
Release and listening information
In November 2024, reports said Zuckerberg’s announcement pointed listeners to Spotify. That documents a launch-time listening option, not whether the cover remains available there today. The reporting cited here does not establish a physical edition or merchandise release.
