Her daughter-in-law, Sam Xenos, shared a video of the performance on TikTok. Powell died on April 10, 2024, aged 62; published reporting says the song was recorded about a week before her death.
How the hospice performance came about
Friends visited Powell at home while she was receiving hospice care and asked what she wanted to sing. Powell chose Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.” In an interview with People, as quoted by Upworthy, Xenos recalled: “And she said, ‘I want to sing ‘Landslide.’ And so she sang ‘Landslide’ one last time,”

Xenos, Powell’s daughter-in-law, posted the video on TikTok. Upworthy reports that the clip shows Powell singing from her bed. The coverage does not establish the exact recording date.

Powell performed as Stevie Nicks in a Fleetwood Mac cover band for more than 20 years, according to Upworthy. The same report says she released three solo albums and worked as an emergency-room nurse.

Wide Open Country quoted Xenos describing the moment as “the last time she could actually sing with her voice.” The statement is her account of Powell’s abilities at that point, rather than a medical assessment.
What published reports say about her illness and death
Upworthy reports that Powell died on April 10, 2024, at age 62, and places the performance about a week earlier. Separate coverage by Wide Open Country and Country Music Family says Powell was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, went into remission, and experienced a recurrence roughly two years later. Those details come from secondary reporting.
