What Price said about the song
In a September 18 CNN interview, Price connected the song’s origin to Kris Kristofferson’s support for Sinéad O’Connor. She said, “You know, I wrote this song because I was inspired by something that Kris Kristofferson said to Sinead O’Connor over 30 years ago.” Price also said the song felt pertinent at the time. Those remarks are her account of its inspiration and relevance.
