In body-camera footage reported by TMZ, Marcus Jordan tells officers: “I’m Marcus Jordan. I’m Michael Jordan’s son. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to get home. And I made a wrong turn. OK?” The footage was reportedly recorded after police found the blue Lamborghini SUV he was in stuck on railroad tracks in Maitland, Florida. The quote is attributed to the reported footage; the full recording has not been independently reviewed here.
What Marcus Jordan says in the arrest video
TMZ reported that Maitland Police Department body-camera footage captured Jordan identifying himself and saying he was trying to get home after making a wrong turn. Its transcript reads: “I’m Marcus Jordan. I’m Michael Jordan’s son. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to get home. And I made a wrong turn. OK?” TMZ’s report of the footage places the recording at about 1:14 a.m.
The Independent published a shorter transcription: “I’m Michael Jordan’s son, I’m not doing anything wrong, I’m just trying to get home and I made a wrong turn.” Because the published transcripts differ, neither should be treated as a definitive word-for-word transcript without checking the original video. The Independent’s account also describes the statement as coming from the arrest footage, not an interview.
Why police were at the scene
Officers found the SUV on railroad tracks near Greenwood Road and Mechanic Street in Maitland at around 1:15 a.m., according to ClickOrlando’s report. Police said the tires were partly buried in gravel, apparently after spinning, and the vehicle had bumper damage. The Associated Press reported, citing the arrest report, that a commuter train was about 10 minutes from passing; ClickOrlando reported that dispatch alerted SunRail. The AP report gives the train timing.

According to accounts of the arrest affidavit, officers reported smelling alcohol and observing slurred speech and confusion. Reports also describe a field sobriety test and a search that turned up a bag of white powder. Those are police-account allegations as reported by the outlets, not independent findings or proof of guilt. CBS Chicago’s report also summarizes the affidavit account.
What charges were reported, and what is the later status?
Initial reports said Jordan faced charges including DUI or DUI crash with property damage, cocaine possession, and resisting an officer without violence. They also reported that he was released after posting bond. These were charges, not findings of guilt.

Later reports describe a diversion agreement and a possible dismissal, but do not establish a final court disposition. In September 2025, TMZ reported that Jordan signed a pretrial intervention contract and that prosecutors would enter a nolle prosequi on the charges if he satisfied the conditions over the following 12 months. In March 2026, TMZ reported that he had completed the requirements and that the charges were set to be dropped. The reviewed reports do not independently confirm the final docket entry, so formal dismissal should not be stated as confirmed. TMZ’s September 2025 update and its March 2026 follow-up describe those developments.
Why reports differ on the powder
Initial 2025 coverage described the powder as cocaine, reflecting the reported charges. TMZ’s March 2026 follow-up instead said the substance tested positive for ketamine. The reports reviewed here do not reconcile those descriptions. The distinction matters: the initial charge and the later reported test result should not be presented as though they were the same confirmed finding.

What the video does—and does not—establish
The reported footage provides the source for the quoted exchange and scene, while details about the officers’ observations, search, and charges come from accounts of police reports and affidavits. Later coverage addresses the diversion agreement and reported completion of its conditions. These are different kinds of evidence and should not be blended into a single definitive account.
Jordan’s reference to being Michael Jordan’s son is part of the reported quote. The reporting cited here does not establish that his family connection affected how officers handled the stop or arrest.
