Four former workers sued singer and influencer Malu Trevejo and MLT World LLC in Miami-Dade County in January 2023, seeking damages of up to $4 million. The complaint alleged workplace misconduct; the requested amount was not a court award, and the allegations should not be treated as established findings.
Who filed the lawsuit, and when?
Victoria Barreto, Ralph Colon, Edwardo Vidal, and Witchneverson Lacroix filed the original complaint on January 10, 2023, in Florida’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County. The defendants were Maria Luisa Trevejo, professionally known as Malu Trevejo, and MLT World LLC. The complaint and case details are available in the initial court filing.
The pleading described Barreto and Lacroix as personal assistants, Colon as a security guard or bodyguard, and Vidal as an assistant and co-manager. It listed employment periods spanning 2021 and 2022.
What did the former workers allege?
The complaint alleged workplace misconduct including harassment, battery, defamation, sexual misconduct, and emotional harm. Billboard’s account of the complaint reported allegations of unwanted sexual advances toward Barreto and verbal mistreatment. The plaintiffs characterized their experience as having “endured mental, emotional, sexual and physical punishment,” a phrase quoted from the pleading; it is their allegation, not a court finding. These claims are allegations made in civil litigation. The cited materials do not establish that Trevejo or MLT World committed the alleged conduct.
What does the $4 million figure mean?
The initial complaint sought damages not exceeding $4,000,000, exclusive of interest, costs, fees, and punitive damages. That was the plaintiffs’ requested maximum in the January 10, 2023 filing—not a judgment, settlement, or confirmed payment.

What happened to the claims after the case was filed?
Lacroix’s claims were reported dismissed
In March 2023, contemporaneous reporting said Lacroix voluntarily dismissed his claims with prejudice. Trevejo’s attorney, Jason Ziven, said: “We are happy with that result and will keep vigorously defending Malu and her name against the other plaintiffs.” The statement referred to Lacroix’s dismissal; it did not announce a resolution of the other plaintiffs’ claims. TMZ’s March 2023 report covered the dismissal.
A later amended complaint named three plaintiffs
A second amended complaint filed June 3, 2024, named Barreto, Colon, and Vidal, invoked the Fair Labor Standards Act and Florida common law, and identified the case as 2023-000346-CA-01. The filing is listed in the Trellis case record.

Is there a documented final outcome?
Trellis labels the case “CLOSED,” but that status label alone does not explain why the case closed or establish the disposition of each remaining claim. The available materials do not identify a final judgment, settlement, or claim-by-claim outcome for Barreto, Colon, and Vidal. It would therefore be inaccurate to describe the case as having resulted in a finding of liability or a confirmed payment.
