What to know about these dates
Theatrical plans are clearer for some titles
The AP calendar explicitly identifies The Devil Wears Prada 2, Super Troopers 3 and PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie as theatrical releases. Fathom says The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will be in theaters everywhere on November 20. The other entries are shown on studio pages or schedules, but those cited listings do not establish streaming availability. A scheduled movie date should not be read as a streaming launch date.
Dates are U.S.-centered and can move
Sony describes its page as a selected U.S. schedule and warns that release dates and titles are subject to change. International release dates may differ. Disney’s pages confirm dates for Toy Story 5 and Avengers: Doomsday, while the cited calendar and schedule sources give the other dates; check the relevant studio or distributor listing for current details closer to release.

“Major” is a selection, not an official category
There is no single industry definition of a major sequel. This calendar selects widely recognized franchise follow-ups with dates supported by the cited studio, distributor or AP listings. It should not be treated as an exhaustive inventory of every sequel planned for 2026. An older schedule filed with the SEC in December 2024 is not final confirmation of a current release plan.

The Devil Wears Prada 2
The AP describes the May release as a sequel with the original cast returning. Director David Frankel told the AP that “one of the reasons we were motivated to even attempt a sequel was to explore how the world of journalism and media at large had changed so dramatically over the 20 years since we made the first movie.”
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping
Fathom’s announcement identifies November 20, 2026, as the date the film will be released in theaters everywhere. Sony also includes the title and date on its selected U.S. schedule.
