She and her partner, Ben Michell, had planned to name the baby Ivy. In a post reported by Nine.com.au, Zemek spoke about grieving both her baby and the future she had imagined for her.
What happened to Beck Zemek?
Nine.com.au reported in 2024 that Zemek had announced a second pregnancy earlier that November, then shared that the pregnancy loss was found during a routine appointment. The report described it as a “silent miscarriage” and said the couple had planned to name the baby Ivy. The account is based on the outlet’s reporting of Zemek’s public social-media post.
Her loss and the circumstances of its discovery are described in Nine.com.au’s report. It does not establish further clinical details about her experience.
What did Zemek say about the loss?
Zemek described the grief as extending beyond the death of a child to the future she had pictured. As quoted by Nine.com.au, she said: “When you lose a future child, you don’t just lose that child and I so understand that now.” She also spoke of “the future plans that you made for them and the room you made in your heart to love them.”

She said she was sharing her story so other women would not feel ashamed or alone: “I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I want to share this because women shouldn’t feel ashamed or like they have to suffer in silence.”
What did she share about her life afterward?
In May 2025, Nine.com.au reported that Zemek announced another pregnancy and had experienced a D&C after her loss. The report described her feelings as a mixture of joy, fear, hope and anxiety. A later Nine.com.au report covered a gender reveal and said the baby’s due date was November 11, a year after the couple’s reported loss of Ivy. These are dated updates; they do not establish Zemek’s current family status.
