Billy Daniels entered Made in Bondi through work and friendship, not a conventional audition, and said he expected to bring “comic relief” to the reality series. The Perth-raised owner of boutique PR agency Billy etc. described a life that has shifted from Hillarys to Sydney’s restaurants, social scene and fashion, beauty and hospitality industries.
Who is Billy Daniels on Made in Bondi?
Daniels is a Perth-raised public relations agent and the owner of Billy etc., a boutique agency focused on fashion, beauty and hospitality, according to Channel 4’s 2024 cast announcement. The broadcaster described him then as 32; that was his age at the time of the announcement, not a current-age claim.

PerthNow reported that Daniels grew up in Hillarys, was a beach nipper and attended St Mark’s. He also spent time in London early in his career. His own account frames his move into Sydney’s social world as a sharp contrast with the West Coast childhood he left behind.
How did Daniels join the show?
Daniels told PerthNow that he was already friends with fellow cast member Paul Versace and that their work together happened to overlap with the production. He said producers then spoke to him. “So I didn’t do any of the casting,” he said. This is Daniels’s description of how he became involved, rather than an account from the production company.

The connection makes sense in light of the pair’s professional circles: Channel 4’s biographies described Daniels and Versace as friends, and Daniels’s agency works across industries represented in the show’s social world.
What does Daniels mean by “comic relief”?
Before the series launched, Daniels told PerthNow he expected to offer “comic relief” to break tension on screen. He also called the show “dramatic, funny, and beautiful”. Those are his pre-launch expectations and description, not an independent assessment of the finished series.

His other remarks suggest he sees the programme’s appeal as partly aspirational. “There’s an element of aspiration to it,” he said, pointing not simply to the people but to “that lifestyle, the beautiful restaurants, the beautiful areas to live in, having that freedom to pursue what you really want to do in life.” He summed up the cast with: “Everyone’s hot.”
From Hillarys to Sydney’s social scene
Daniels described his present life in terms of the city and the industries in which he works: “I love being in the city. I love eating at the best restaurants. That’s the space that I work in now, and the people that I work with,” he told PerthNow. “Sydney is just the perfect city for that.”

The contrast is central to his story on the show: the Perth childhood and beach culture he came from, set against a city-based career and social life. His comments about restaurants, beautiful neighbourhoods and freedom to pursue ambitions also echo the aspirational lifestyle that he said viewers would see.

Personal trainer Kayla Krug and luxury car sales agent Harley Christie were also named as appearing, with Made in Chelsea personalities Tristan Phipps and Miles Nazaire announced as special guests.
