Madame Web has no post-credits scene. Its ending does gesture toward a possible future for its women, but that material is part of the film—not a separate credits sting or a formal Spider-Man reveal. Calling the movie “a post-credits scene as an entire cynical movie” is a critical interpretation of its setup-heavy feel, not a literal description of what happens after the credits.
Does Madame Web have a post-credits scene?
No. The credits do not contain an extra scene, according to release-period reporting by TheWrap and ComicBook.com. If you are deciding whether to stay through the credits, there is no additional scene to wait for.

What does the ending set up?
The film’s ending offers a glimpse of a possible future for its women. TheWrap describes that forward-looking material, while TIME considers its potential implications for future stories. It happens within the movie’s ending; it is not a post-credits scene.
That distinction matters for the title’s cynical-movie reading. A conventional credits tag is a discrete scene appended after the story. Madame Web instead folds its future-facing suggestion into the feature itself. Seeing that as an extended setup is a critical judgment about the film’s structure, not proof that a sequel was formally announced.
#1 Best Overall
- Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures...if they can all survive a deadly present.
Does it introduce Spider-Man or confirm a sequel?
No credits tag formally introduces Spider-Man or jumps from the film’s 2003 setting to the present, TIME reports. The future-oriented ending may invite speculation, but it is not the same as an explicit Spider-Man appearance or a confirmed sequel announcement.
Why did the filmmakers leave out a credits scene?
Director S.J. Clarkson said the team discussed what might go at the end, then felt the story had already been told. ComicBook.com also reported Clarkson’s explanation that the film’s clairvoyance made it possible to present future-facing material within the story. This is Clarkson’s stated rationale, not a studio declaration that no sequel was ever intended.
