Lyra Valkyria’s rise in WWE runs from an NXT Women’s Championship win over Becky Lynch to becoming the first Women’s Intercontinental Champion and a Women’s Tag Team Champion. WWE’s August 2026 Raw coverage now places her in a developing story with Sol Ruca and reigning Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez.
Who is Lyra Valkyria?
WWE identifies Valkyria as an Irish Superstar from Dublin. Her on-screen presentation draws on Irish heritage and the Morrigan persona, part of the character WWE presents in its programming; it should not be treated as a literal account of her real life.
WWE’s profile focuses on career milestones rather than a complete statistical record. It does not provide a full win-loss tally, match count, age, or title-reign durations, so those figures cannot be established from the profile.
How Valkyria moved from NXT to Raw
NXT breakthrough
Valkyria’s defining NXT milestone was defeating Becky Lynch to win the NXT Women’s Championship, according to WWE’s official biography. The result linked her rise to one of WWE’s most prominent performers and set the stage for her move to the main roster.

Raw debut and first Women’s Intercontinental title
WWE says Valkyria was drafted to Monday Night Raw in 2024. She then made history as the first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion, defeating Dakota Kai for the title. That milestone gave her a distinct place in Raw’s women’s division: she was not simply arriving from NXT, but becoming the inaugural holder of a newly established championship.
Tag-team championship at WrestleMania 41
At WrestleMania 41, Valkyria and Lynch won the Women’s Tag Team Championship. WWE’s biography describes this as Valkyria becoming a “double champion” after her Intercontinental title win. It is an official WWE summary of her accomplishments, not a personal quotation from Valkyria.

What is Lyra Valkyria doing on Raw now?
WWE’s dated coverage shows a story taking shape around Valkyria, Sol Ruca, and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez. On August 17, 2026, WWE highlighted Ruca defeating Valkyria on Raw. On August 31, WWE reported that Valkyria attacked Ruca during Ruca’s championship match against Rodriguez, helping Rodriguez retain. These reports establish the recent on-screen developments, but do not by themselves determine where the storyline will go next.
WWE’s biography also describes a storyline involving Bayley and a character shift after the pair failed to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship. WWE uses the phrase “severe breakdown” in its character description; that is promotional storyline language, not evidence of a real-world medical diagnosis.
