What is Luther: Never Too Much about?
Directed and executive produced by Dawn Porter, the documentary follows Vandross from his early years in Harlem through his work around the Apollo Theater and on early episodes of Sesame Street, then into his career as a singer. It also addresses his personal life, health struggles and the effort to earn respect for his music. This is a documentary, not a concert film or a dramatized biopic. [c002] [c003] [c006]
The film draws on archival material and interviews with friends and musical collaborators. Official announcements name Mariah Carey, Dionne Warwick, Valerie Simpson and Roberta Flack among the participants; Richard Marx and Jamie Foxx are also named in the trailer announcement. These are selected names, not a complete participant list. [c001] [c002] [c006]

- Search the exact title, Luther: Never Too Much, rather than just “Luther Vandross”; music listings for the artist are not listings for the documentary.
- Confirm that the result is the film itself, and check whether access requires a subscription, an add-on or a separate rental.
- If it is not listed, check the service’s regional catalog again later; the past CNN, OWN and Max announcements do not guarantee present-day access.
