What Luke Grimes said about becoming a father
Grimes called the experience “magical to watch.” In the interview, he said he had known for a long time that he wanted to start a family and saw that as the source of his “real happiness.” He joked that the “other stuff” — his entertainment work — was going to pay the bills.
His remarks put family and career in distinct places: work is part of his life, but he describes the happiness of his family as something more personal and lasting.
Why family has mattered to him for so long
Grimes connected that outlook to his childhood in Ohio. The youngest of four, he grew up around nieces and nephews and said having a family of his own was his “north star.” The comments suggest fatherhood was not a new priority prompted only by the arrival of his son; it was something he had imagined as central to his life for years.

What he said about balancing work and personal life
When work and personal demands feel overwhelming, Grimes said he tries to focus on the present: “all I can do is just try to be present.” That is his description of how he approaches competing demands, rather than a general prescription for other parents.
When Grimes made the comments
The Yahoo Entertainment report, published November 9, 2024, said Grimes and Rodrigues Grimes had welcomed their first child, a son, the month before. The report described the baby as six weeks old and Grimes as 40 at the time. Those are details from the 2024 interview report, not current ages.
