The announcement named the Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. It described OK Kids Korral as a cost-free home for families of children dealing with critical illnesses. The report does not provide a fundraising total or attendance figure.
What did Jelly Roll say about honoring Toby Keith?
Rolling Stone Canada recalled Jelly Roll’s earlier comments to Variety about covering Keith’s “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” at his own shows. He said: “I had been covering ‘Should’ve Been a Cowboy’ for about a year now at most of my shows, just kind of honoring Toby as he was getting sick before he passed away. Then I really started chewing on, man, what better place to honor Toby than Stagecoach?” Rolling Stone Canada’s report attributes the quotation to that earlier interview.
