Luísa Sonza said the viral “Meu casal” comment attributed to Vitão was fake, and that the comment never existed. Vitão had denied posting it months earlier. The meme circulated amid public discussion of Sonza and Whindersson Nunes’s separation, but it is not evidence of an affair or of what caused their breakup.
What was the “Meu casal” meme?
The meme came from a purported screenshot showing singer Vitão commenting “meu casal” (“my couple”) on a photo of Sonza and her then-husband, Whindersson Nunes. In an interview with ELLE, Sonza said the screenshot was fake and the comment had never existed. She described it as a bizarre fabricated image that nevertheless went viral and became a meme.
Hugo Gloss reported that the joke circulated around April 2020, when Sonza and Whindersson announced their separation. That timing helped the rumor travel, but timing does not authenticate a screenshot or establish a connection between the meme and the separation.
What did Vitão and Sonza say?
Vitão’s denial in September 2020
In an interview published on September 23, 2020, Hugo Gloss asked Vitão about the supposed comment. He answered, “Cara, é fake! É mais uma das coisas criadas na internet” (“Man, it’s fake! It’s another one of those things created on the internet”). He also said he was not friends with Sonza or Whindersson when the photo was taken.

This is Vitão’s direct denial, not independent forensic verification of the original Instagram post.
Sonza’s January 2021 reaction
Sonza’s remark about people believing the comment was real came on January 11, 2021, in response to a separate fake post attributed to Vitão. As POPLINE reported, she wrote: “Eu já ia falar que não era possível que vocês acreditam em uns fakes assim, mas vocês acreditaram que o comentário ‘meu casal’ era verdadeiro, então eu já não duvido mais de nada” (“I was going to say it couldn’t be possible that you believe fakes like this, but you believed the ‘meu casal’ comment was real, so I don’t doubt anything anymore”). The post referred back to the meme as an example of how readily fabricated material could be believed.

What the meme does—and does not—show
The public record in these reports is straightforward: a purported screenshot circulated, Sonza called it fake and said the comment never existed, and Vitão separately denied posting it. The cited coverage records their statements; it does not report an independent examination of the original Instagram record.
- The meme does not prove that Vitão made the comment.
- It does not show that he caused Sonza and Whindersson’s separation or that an affair took place.
- The fact that Sonza and Vitão announced a relationship in September 2020, as contemporaneous Hugo Gloss coverage reported, does not establish those earlier allegations.
No reliable named count of the meme’s views, shares, or audience reach is established in the cited reporting. Its significance here is as an example of a viral joke being mistaken for evidence, not as proof of the story implied by the joke.
