The announced Brazilian series is Love Transit, a Prime Video adaptation of CJ ENM’s South Korean dating format EXchange. Despite the “K-drama” shorthand in the headline, it is unscripted reality programming, not a scripted drama. CJ ENM announced filming was scheduled to begin in September 2026 in São Paulo and Campos do Jordão; the announcements reviewed do not confirm that filming has started.
What is the Brazilian series?
Love Transit is a Brazilian adaptation of EXchange, a Korean unscripted dating series. CJ ENM announced it as a Prime Video Original on August 25, 2026, and named Brazilian television producer Boninho as director, with Amazon MGM Studios and Formata as producers. CJ ENM’s announcement identifies the project as a format remake, not a scripted series.
The headline’s use of “K-drama” is therefore imprecise. It may work as broad shorthand for Korean-origin entertainment, but the announced program belongs to reality dating television. Nor do the official announcements establish that it is Brazil’s first production of any kind connected to Korean television; they describe this adaptation without substantiating that wider claim.
Where and when is it being filmed?
CJ ENM said production was scheduled to begin in September 2026 in São Paulo and Campos do Jordão, a city in São Paulo state. That is a planned start and location announcement, not confirmation that filming began or concluded. The announcement does not say which location will host most of the production.

A September 2, 2026 follow-up confirmed the Brazilian remake and its named production team, but did not add a release date or cast list. The announcements also provide no episode count. CJ ENM’s follow-up leaves those details unstated.
How does the EXchange format work?
In the Korean original, former couples live together without knowing which other participants are their former partners. They revisit past relationships while getting to know new people, then decide whether to reunite with an ex or pursue a new relationship. CJ ENM’s Head of Content Business Unit Sebastian Kim described the premise this way: “EXchange brings together former couples who parted ways, giving them a chance to look back on past relationships and find new love.” The quote refers to the format and is attributed to Kim by CJ ENM, not to the Brazilian production team. CJ ENM’s description of the format outlines the setup.

How does the Brazilian version fit the format’s history?
CJ ENM says EXchange debuted in 2021 and describes Love Transit as an expansion into Latin America. The company also reports that a Japanese adaptation called Love Transit preceded the Brazilian version and had three seasons at the time of its August 2026 announcement. That makes the Brazilian project part of an international format rollout; it does not establish how closely its cast, rules, or episodes will match the Korean original. CJ ENM’s account of the format’s adaptations provides that background.

CJ ENM reports that the Korean original received a nomination for Best Original Programme by a Streamer at the 2021 Asian Academy Creative Awards. The company also reports nominations for EXchange 3 at the 2024 Asian Television Awards, for Best Original Digital Entertainment Programme, and at the 2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards, for Best General Entertainment. These are company-reported nominations, not awards won or independent measures of the Brazilian adaptation’s likely performance. CJ ENM’s awards and performance account lists the nominations.

Other figures in CJ ENM’s September 2026 coverage offer context about the Korean format and interest in Korean content, but none measures Love Transit. CJ ENM says EXchange Season 3’s first-day impact on new subscriber acquisition was 74 times Season 1’s, and that Season 4 contributed the No. 1 share of weekly subscriptions for 17 consecutive weeks. The company also reports that the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil’s “Brazil Cultural Trends – July” report found Korean culture accounted for 28% of coverage in major Brazilian media outlets; the report year is not specified in CJ ENM’s account. For a 2026 K-Content Biz Week event in Rio de Janeiro, CJ ENM reports 195 export consultations and approximately US$7.13 million in contract achievements, attributing those event figures to the Korea Creative Content Agency Brazil Business Center. The September announcement is the source for these attributed figures.
