No one got married on Love Is Blind Season 9. Five couples got engaged in the pods, but three engagements ended before the finale, and both couples who reached the altar chose not to marry. It was the first season in the show’s nine-season run to end without an “I do”—a sharp stress test of a format built around getting engaged before meeting face to face, but not proof that the format caused these relationships to fail.
What happened at the Season 9 weddings?
Season 9 followed daters based in Denver, though the pods where they first connected were in California. Netflix reported that the cast included 32 people aged 27 to 41. Episodes arrived in weekly batches beginning October 1, 2025, with releases on October 8, 15, and 22; the reunion followed on October 29.
Five couples got engaged in the pods. Three engagements ended before the finale. The remaining two couples reached the altar, but in each case one partner declined to marry. The result: no weddings. Axios Denver reported that it was the first finale in the series’ nine seasons in which nobody said “I do”; Netflix’s reunion recap likewise described it as the franchise’s first finale without a wedding.

Why does a season with no weddings matter?
The show’s central proposition is that people can form a romantic connection without seeing one another, then get engaged before meeting in person. Season 9 carried that premise to its most visible endpoint: all five engagements failed to become marriages, including the two couples who made it to the altar.
That contrast makes the season a revealing stress test of the format’s promise. An emotional bond formed through conversation in the pods still has to withstand meeting in person, building a shared life, and deciding whether to marry. Season 9 shows that the journey can end at any of those stages. It does not establish that meeting face to face, the show’s format, or any other single factor caused the couples’ decisions.

Did Season 9 prove the experiment does not work?
No. “Experiment” is the show’s framing, not evidence that Love Is Blind is a controlled scientific study. The season’s outcome establishes that these five engagements did not produce a wedding; it cannot, on its own, prove a general claim about relationships or demonstrate that the premise is disproven.
Creator Chris Coelen defended the format in Netflix Tudum’s Season 9 finale interview. “As I’ve said, the experiment is working better than ever,” he said, adding that future seasons may produce happy couples as well as couples who decide their love is not enough. He described the journeys as “in a word, human.” That is Coelen’s view as the show’s creator, not independent validation of the experiment’s effectiveness.

For a broader critique, a March 2026 Marie Claire essay argued that repeated dating-show tropes and dramatic arcs have weakened the series’ value as a social experiment. That argument concerns the franchise and focuses principally on Season 10, so it is context for the debate rather than direct evidence about why Season 9 ended without a marriage.

What Season 9 can—and cannot—tell viewers
The clearest conclusion is specific: no Season 9 couple married at the altar. The season puts the gap between the show’s promise and its outcome in plain sight, but the result is a story about this cast, not a verdict on love or a controlled test of whether the format works.
Netflix describes the series as following singles who seek love and get engaged before meeting in person. Its catalog page lists the show on Netflix, but streaming availability may vary by territory and change over time.
