Its unlikely partnership between a postman and a reclusive toymaker begins to change a cold, feuding town. Netflix lists it as a feel-good family and kids movie; check your local catalog for current availability.
What is Klaus about?
Jesper, a self-centered postman, is sent to a remote northern island where feuding residents rarely exchange words or letters. There he befriends Alva, a teacher, and Klaus, a reclusive carpenter whose cabin is filled with handmade toys. As the unlikely friendships take hold, acts of generosity start to thaw the divided town.
That setup gives the film a clear emotional center: a community shaped by bitterness begins to change through small, personal gestures. The story is a holiday comedy, but its appeal also comes from its sentimental take on friendship and generosity.
Why it fits a feel-good Christmas-movie mood
Netflix categorizes Klaus as a PG kids movie and includes it among family, kids and family, and comedy movies. Its descriptive tags include “Sentimental,” “Imaginative,” and “Feel-Good.” Those are Netflix’s catalog labels, not a guarantee that every child or viewer will respond the same way.
