Lindsey Vonn’s underwear was briefly visible after a gust of wind lifted her gown at the 2025 ESPYS. The coverage describes an accidental wardrobe mishap—not a confirmed fashion statement or intentional reveal.
What happened on the red carpet?
Vonn attended the ESPY Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Us Weekly reported that a gust of wind lifted her dress and exposed a glimpse of her thong. E! also described a wind-related wardrobe malfunction and said Vonn’s sister, Karin Kildow, helped her during the moment.
Us Weekly’s account characterized the incident as a wardrobe malfunction. The available coverage does not establish that Vonn intended to reveal her underwear.

Us Weekly identified Vonn’s gown as an Elisabetta Franchi strapless design with a thigh-high slit. It also described black platform heels, a matching clutch and statement earrings. E! called the dress maroon, while Sports Illustrated Swimsuit described it as deep purple. Because the outlets differ on the shade, the color is best left imprecise.
